Week 1 Reflection

While creating my first English blog, thoughts about how I could use this for class ran wild. Still I am hazy about the usage of the blog. How can this blog be of help to my students? So far, so perplexed yet.

It is the first week of the course and just one day has passed. I am seeing a silver lining here. The bright side is that I came up with a cool name of the blog - English Teacher Tool - and am making it look nicer.

With the help of Courtney and the other participants, my vague ideas of how to make use of the blog will be crystal clear.

  1. Hi Kumwu,
I understand you feel perplexed and confused... That's how I felt at the beginning of my blogging experience about three years ago. What should I do? How can I use it? What applications to add? What assignments to include? and many many more questions. I was lucky to have a friend who taught me and introduced various options of blogging to me. I believe you are even in a more privileged position now - we have a good instructor and a very ambitious group of 'students' from whom we all can learn.
Blogging is very useful in teaching. On your blog you can share numerous links to texts, video/audio material, online grammar tasks, and what's more important - you can incorporate other online applications into your blog.
You can ask your students to do online grammar and listening exercises, reading, translating, reasearch activities... You can share links and additional material. Possibilities are many!
If you want, you can check my personal tutor-type blog: goeenglish.blogspot.com . I hope I can be of some help though I myself have to learn endlessly... ))
    Good luck,
    Natalya.
